It has been more than a week that Donald Trump has won the elections in USA and in a dozen of
interviews the Democrat specialists, strategists and officials offered a variety of explanations for the Vice
President Kamala Harris defeat. The top media and marketing experts are in a one big competition to
analyse what was it that was so convincing in his political campaign. What comes to the surface in his
campaign is the presence of influential podcasters that Trump gave interviews to before the elections. All
his participations made enormous numbers of visualisations.
Could have the podcasters influenced the elections in USA and helped Trump to get back to power?
We all know that the communication changed drastically in the recent years. The mainstream media still
holds their position, but billions of people all over the world are switching to the platforms like You tube,
X, Rumble, Google and other and instead of watching Tv shows and interviews they tend to choose the
long form conversation podcasts.
Apparently, the long form podcasts are the modern replacement for the legacy media. These platforms tend to have more freedom, an effective monopoly on the content distribution. Their censorship is less
strong, and the choice of the guests is wider which makes it all more appealing to the viewers. It’s a fact that cross posting and long- form platforms is due to become a norm for all pollical campaigns.
What the podcasters offer is for their guests to talk about numerous topics in an open face to face conversation and this way the viewers get to know the personality better which must be basis in politics.
According to the The Financial Times, Trump increased his support among the electorate in almost about
every demographic group, especially among young men and women and it is a fact that young men are
the ones to tend to listen to these kinds of podcasts.
Trump participated at such podcasts as the Joe Rogan Experience (46, 5 million views on you tube and
22 mil on X), The Past weekend By Theo Von ( 14 million on you tube), Lex Friedman (6,2 million on you
tube ) , Flagrant ( 7, 8 million ), Full Send Podcast (3, 3 million ), Adin Ross Stream (2, 6 million ),Bussin’
with the boys ,PBD Podcast (3, 1 million ), Impaulsive (6, 7million ), All- in Podcast (3, 4 million), Shawn
Ryan show (3,6 million ) and Don Bongino show ( 2,8 million on Rumble ) and all this makes more than
a billion of views. The encounter of Trump and famous golfer Bryson Dechambeau made millions of
visualizations on You tube.
Could it be that the impact of these long form conversations and these numerous visualisations made aneffect on the outcome of the Presidential elections? The king of the podcasters in United States in Joe Rogan, his “The joe Rogan experience” is the most watched podcast in the world. Trump’s interview with him literally broke You Tube getting 26 million views in just 24hours. The future President spoke to Joe Rogan for three hours discussing every part of Trump’s life – from his story as a businessman and his transit to politics to the July assassination attack. The interview with Trump gathered nearly 50 million views on You tube which overcame many Tv channels. Rogan also endorsed Trump just before the elections.
Rogan invited Kamala Harris to the podcast, but her staff said it was impossible for her to come over to
Rogan’s headquarter so the interview never took place. The Harris campaign and Rogan whose audience overcomes major TV networks discussed her appearance to help her reach young male voters drawn to Trump, however this idea according to the White house officials was abandoned due to the concerns about the reaction of the Democratic Party progressists. Harris also participated in different podcasts like Call her Daddy and We The people and most of the most famous stars in Hollywood (Taylor Swift, Richard Gere, Leonardo Di Caprio, GeorgeClooney, Oprah Winfrey) supported her as candidate. Still the influence of the podcasters turned out to be immense and more efficient that the endorsement of celebrities. For many reasons the elections in USA are the example of how the communication methods are changing worldwide and this is only the beginning.
