The BETTER WORLD FUND EVENT in CANNES 2024

The Better World Fund a renownedinternational endownmentorganization organized its Gala Dinner at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes on May 15 , 2024 being an integral part of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. It was a highly glamorous celebration of the 15th edition of this organization highly valued and renowned all over the world.

The importance of this occasion was inhenced by the fact that  this year the world is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Franco-Chinese diplomatic relations. The occasion followed the historic state visit of the Chinese leader Si Dsin Ping to France and his extended talks with France President Manuel Macron.

The event brimming with elegance and purpose was presided over by Manuel Collas de la Roche, President and Founder of Better World Fund as well as theby the visionary Jacquelline Zhen, President of Bestway.

The main idea of the gathering was expressed by Manuel Collas de la Roche in his presentation speech as follows: “Around the world, women and men are creating, innovating, and taking action to address climate change and social inequalities. The goal of the Better World Fund is to highlight and financially support these hopeful actions.”

The whole ceremony was elegantly presented and exquisitely organized. Its importance was inhenced by the presence of many luminaries such as the great actress Juliette Binoche, virtuoso pianist Lang Lang, singer-songwriter Joyce Jonathan, and members of European royalty: H.R.H Charles Bourbon des Deux-Siciles and other members of this family as well as the Princess of Belgium H.R.H.Li Ran Ran.

Other distinguished guests included Eric Alauzet – French Deputy and President of the Group of “Amitiés France-Chine”, Dong Guangli – General Consulate of China in Marseille, Mohamed Abou el Enein, Enaam Mayara – President of the House of Councilors of Morocco, H.E Eliza Reid – First Lady of Iceland, Kiera Chaplin, actress and director Nadine Labaki, Jessica de Mortier, and Monika Bacardi.

The evening featured an exquisite auction and raffle to benefit the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, underscoring the night’s theme of philanthropy. A spotlight on women’s empowerment was brilliantly presented by UNESCO Peace Ambassador Guila Clara Kessous, inspiring all in attendance.

The prestigious Better World Best Achievement Award honored Jacqueline Zheng, Guila Clara Kessous, H.E Eliza Reid, Monika Bacardi, Mohamed Abou el Enein, Alexandre Amartei, and Valentina Castellani Quinn, who was presented her award by Anwar Elkamony of the Hope Giver Campaign.

Guests were enchanted by performances from Joyce Jonathan, Flutist and Composer Daniel Alhaiby, Lang Lang, Aidan Siqi Zhao, Pen Jingxuan, Li Kehua, and Chang Sisi. All these wonderful performers added musical magic to the night.
