The world-famous Italian couturier Gianni Molaro chose to present his 2024 bridal collection in Rome on Sunday, November 26, 2023 in the eighteenth-century Galleria del Cardinale Colonna. The majestic residence of Princes Colonna for the first time welcomed a fashion show dedicated entirely to the bridal gowns of outstanding beauty. Over four hundred guests flocked to Gianni Molaro’s fashion show, who returned to the Roman catwalks after almost ten years of absence.

Elena Parmegiani, Director of Events of the Galleria del Cardinale Colonna and Coffee House of Palazzo Colonna who is a well-known fashion journalist presented the maestro Molaro’s collection to over 400 guests who flocked to the fashion show and filled the majestic premises of the palazzo.

The 2024 collection is characterized by the precious hand-made embroideries of 100% Italian make. Crystals, rods and pearls embellish the spectacular sculptural dresses, giving brides a divine look. In addition to embroidery many dresses were decorated with French Chantilly lace carvings and transparencies. The silhouettes are characterized by soft and wide mermaid lines that give every woman the opportunity to choose the dress that best suits her physique. The creations are made with mikado fabrics, with cady fluids and graceful chiffon. Silk organza could not be missing, the fabric that makes every dress romantic. The 2024 bridal collection is enriched by numerous accessories, such as embroidered or lace gloves, balloon sleeves and chiffon scarves. The necklines are deep or transparent, precious or jagged, halter, humeral or sweetheart.

What has always made the designer Gianni Molaro unique are the transformable wedding dresses. From long to short, from romantic to mermaid, with detachable sleeves and pumps, etc. Creations that are transformed at the moment of cutting the cake are made to amaze the guests of the wedding. The designer himself showed live to the public on the catwalk how it is done.

The event opened with a dance performance and the fashion show closed with a sumptuous red wedding dress, a haute couture creation from 1999 of Gianni Molaro’s first fashion show in Rome that the designer has reformed and embellished.

The show that was visited by a numerous outstanding personalities was a great tribute by the designer to the capital of Italy that warmly welcomed him many years ago and where today the designer has his atelier in the famous Via del Babuino, but above all a tribute to all women who are a source of life and hope. A clear warning against violence against women, who are too often victims of brutal femicides nowadays.

Gianni Molaro, originally from San Giuseppe Vesuviano (the province of Naples) opened his first atelier in 1990. He has been called the designer of records several times because in 1993 he created a veil of 326.70 meters. He repeats the experience with a twelve-meter-diameter wedding dress and finally achieves another record with the most precious dress in the world, studded with seven thousand diamonds.

In 1999 he made his debut on the catwalks of high fashion in Rome with a collection inspired by Campania traditions, his fashion show will be a procession of fujenti of the Madonna dell’Arco, to which his father was devoted. In recent years Molaro was experimenting with new shapes and volumes, creating sculptural dresses shown in exhibitions and museums all over the world. In 2004 Gianni presented at Palazzo Venezia, in Rome, a collection of twelve sculpture dresses completely hand-painted with a performance that broke all the traditional canons of the fashion show. He has been defined by the press as the prophet of Art Couture. Maestro Roberto Capucci often complimented him calling Molaro a “transversal artist”, not only a fashion designer, but also a painter and sculptor. In 2012 he opened his atelier in Rome in Piazza di Spagna, which is now located in Via del Babuino. For the occasion of the opening of Molaro’s atelier the entire Spanish Steps were covered with three thousand meters of white tulle. Since 2014 Gianni has been collaborating with the Rai 2 television program “Detto Fatto” as a stylist and tutor of the Fashion Academy. In 2021, the designer created his first Gianni Molaro ready-to-wear collection.
